Ranchi, Feb. 14: Jharkhand High Court has expressed its dissatisfaction with the ongoing work at tourist sites and directed the state government, India Tourism Development Corporation and Jharkhand Tourism Development Corporation to furnish a status report.

A division bench of Chief Justice R. Banumathi and Justice S. Chandrashekhar, while hearing a PIL filed by Babloo Kumar on lack of basic amenities at tourist spots today, said work done so far was unsatisfactory. The bench noted that Jonha, Dassam, Hirni and Sita falls, along with Panchghag, were in need of more attention and directed authorities to complete construction of toilets, water kiosks and seating areas.

Additional advocate general Ajit Kumar, appearing for the state government, said that work had suffered due to a shortage of construction material, but the court did not buy the argument. The next hearing is on February 20.
