Patna: Former chief minister Jagannath Mishra congratulated the Nitish government on its successful completion of six years in power. n a press note released in Patna on Sunday, Mishra said the NDA government had succeeded in turning around Bihar’s fortunes. He added that there had been a sea change in the state under Nitish’s rule.

Body found

Patna: A woman, in her mid-20s, was found dead near the railway overbridge under Deedarganj police station in Patna City sub-division on Sunday.


Patna: Both the Bankipur and Jethuli wings of St Joseph’s Convent High School will remain closed on Monday as its Plus Two section in-charge Sister M. Eugenia CJ died on Saturday.

Patna: Two train ticket examiners identified as S.N. Singh and Gautam were suspended on charges of taking Rs 1,200 from a passenger at Patna Junction on Sunday.

Red terror

Gaya: A squad of around 20 Maoists torched the generator set of a cellphone tower at village Kanausi under Konch police station of Gaya district late on Saturday evening.


Gaya: A 12-year-old girl was crushed to death by a truck that drove into the house of Rajendra Prasad at Nemdarganj Bazaar in Nawada district in the early hours on Sunday. The girl, Sulekha Kumari, was sleeping in the house and died on the spot.

Raid in jail

Gopalganj: Police on Sunday raided Gopalganj jail and recovered eight mobiles, chargers, batteries and various other items from the inmates.


Saharsa: An FIR has been lodged against 99 government employees and public representatives for their alleged involvement in embezzlement of funds to the tune of Rs 50 lakh under MNREGA scheme in Bangaon and Mahulia panchayats.
