Meal cooks fall ill

Siwan: Asha Devi and Ruby Devi, the two cooks of Bangra Srikant Middle School under the jurisdiction of Tarwara police station, fell ill on Friday after consuming the midday meal. hey were admitted to Siwan Sadar hospital. Doctors said prima facie it appeared to be a case of food poisoning. The condition of the women is said to be stable. The students were not served the meal.

Suspension

Patna: Arvind Singh, the assistant sub-inspector posted at Runnisaidpur police station in Sitamarhi district, has been put under suspension after being found guilty of illegally detaining a tea vendor, Jayprakash Sah.

Chhapra: Sub-inspector Krishna Baitha, posted at Baniapur police station, suffered injuries on Thursday night after a bullet from the revolver of a trainee sub-inspector hit him accidentally.

Abduction

Gopalganj: Rohit, alias Rahul (12), was abducted at Kurba Bazar bridge under the jurisdiction of Baikunthpur police station on Friday morning on his way to school.

Exam trains

Patna: East Central Railway has decided to run two special trains between Patna and Hatiya and one special train between Patna and Jabalpur to cater to the needs of examinees of railway recruitment board.

Netball trouble

Patna, Aug. 30: The Netball Federation of India has suspended its provisional affiliation to Bihar Netball Association, as it did not organise any tournament or conduct elections over the past four years.
