Patna, Oct. 12: RJD chief Lalu Prasad and Patna Sahib MP Shatrughan Sinha are yet to be invited for the centenary year celebrations of Patna University on Saturday featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Both Lalu and Sinha are alumni of the varsity.

"I have no idea about Lalu ji getting any invitation from the Patna University, If any invitation would have been sent to Laluji I would surely know," said Bhola Yadav, RJD MLA and a close aide of Lalu who was with him in Delhi.

Sinha, the BJP MP who is often at loggerheads with his own party, also expressed disappointment over not getting an invitation. He told reporters on Thursday that he has been "sidelined" from the event.

Patna University registrar Rabindra Kumar, however, said the invitation card has gone for printing. "As soon we get the invitation card we will send it to everyone including Lalu ji and Shatrughan Sinhaji," he said.

Contacted for comment, BJP MLA Nitin Navin said Lalu would avoid the event because he "cannot make eye contact with students" after being "being involved in many corruption cases".

JDU spokesperson Neeraj Kumar said: "Political difference should be kept aside and Lalu ji should attend the centenary year celebration."
