Patna: Patna High Court on Wednesday said the Patna University administration was incompetent.

The court made this observation during hearing of a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by social activist Vikash Chandra alias Guddu Baba, about illegal occupation of Patna University (PU) hostels by outsiders. The bench of Chief Justice Mukesh R. Shah and Justice Ashutosh Kumar was told that outsiders occupy 86 rooms at the BN College hostel, 46 rooms at the Patna Law College hostel, 28 rooms at the Hathwa hostel and 29 rooms at the Ranighat hostel.

Hearing this the bench said: "You (the PU administration) are incompetent to save your interest and the interest of the students."

The court then ordered the varsity authorities to evict the illegal boarders and submit a report to the court on September 27 when the next hearing is scheduled.
