Patna: Chhath devotees would be able to know the actual distance of the Chhath ghat from the main road, the space they would get in every riverbank and also information related to nearby parking facilities.
The district administration has decided to bring all the information in public domain by issuing advertisements in newspapers.
The administration has convened a meeting of its officials on October 18 in which they have to provide all information, which has to be further shared with the public. District magistrate Sanjay Kumar Agarwal took all the decisions after he made inspections of the ghats on Sunday.
Sources said last year the district administration had brought out details on the Chhath ghats but only important ghats' details were shared.
This is the first time such elaborate details on the ghats would be made public. The idea is people can decide which ghat they want to visit for the Chhath rituals.
The list of unfit Chhath ghats is going to be issued only after October 22. "We are waiting for the Ganga water level to subside and this is expected only after a week," said the official.
This year, the administration is serious about parking near the Chhath ghats.
"Till last year, it was seen that vehicles were parked metres ahead of the parking lot. Such things won't be tolerated.
Proper lighting arrangements and security measures are going to be made at the ghats," said the official.
Agarwal issued instructions on expediting work related to the construction of changing rooms, control room and watch towers at the ghats.
"The PMC commissioner has been asked to ensure cleanliness in all the ghats and the roads leading to the them. The barricading work has also been started and directions have been issued to complete it before October 22," said Agarwal.
"A few ghats have been encroached. Instructions have been issued to remove encroachments at the earliest.
Directions were issued to make a detailed report of the parking facilities that has to be created for devotees coming to Patipur Ghat," said Agarwal.
