Virat is CR7 of cricket: Bravo
Calcutta/Mumbai: West Indian all-rounder Dwayne Bravo heaped praise on India and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kolhi and equated him with Cristiano Ronaldo.
"It's (equation with Virat is) good. Virat actually played under-19 (cricket) with my younger brother Darren and I always tell my brother that Virat is a person he shall look up to.
"And I am not saying that because I am here," 34-year-old Bravo, who's playing for Chennai Super Kings in IPL XI, said on Monday.
"I actually asked Virat to talk to my brother personally about batting, about cricket. When I see Virat, I see Cristiano Ronaldo of cricket.
"For me as a cricket player to play against him and to watch him play when he represents India, even RCB, I admire the talent that he has, the passion he has for the game, for the sport when he plays. So, hats off to him and he deserves all the achievement," Bravo added.
Ronaldo, one of the best footballers in the world, represents Real Madrid and is a winner of Ballon d'Or five times.
Bravo also lauded the efforts of Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Chris Gayle after both of them produced fabulous knocks on Sunday. Dhoni's unbeaten knock, though, couldn't seal the game for Chennai Super Kings, but Gayle's 63 laid the foundation for Kings XI Punjab's victory.
According to Bravo, age was never a barrier as long as the passion to play the game is there.
"Not the results we wanted today but a special knock from our cpt @mahi7781 and the universe boss @chrisgayle333 some ppl might talk about their age but as long these two men still playing they will always be the best it have #RunDWorld #Champion," Bravo wrote on Instagram after Sunday's game.
