Teddy is wary of FC Goa
Calcutta: ATK coach Teddy Sheringham is not taking FC Goa lightly and termed the visitors as a "dangerous team".
"I've been very impressed with FC Goa... They have good Indian and foreign players... We have to be at our best to beat them," said Sheringham.
The ATK head coach was effusive in his praise of Irishman Robbie Keane.
"Robbie's a renowned player and every day he does something special at training. The players are looking up to him... Which is why I asked him to come here...
"He's an important part of our team and has been fantastic with his performances," Sheringham said.
The former Manchester United striker defended his style, compared to how the team has been playing.
"It's not like we've decided to sit back and defend. We've attacked teams from the outset. We have the same mindset - scoring goals and the earlier the better. But sometimes it just doesn't happen like that," Sheringham said.
ATK goalkeeper Debjit Majumdar said a win on Wednesday would help them climb up the table. "We cannot compare with last year. Now it is a bigger league and we have more teams and many games are left. There will be ups and downs but we need to keep our cool and move forward... If we win tomorrow, we will climb up the table," he said.
Goa's assistant coach Derrick Pereira knows well that ATK can be dangerous at home.
"It is their (ATK) home match and they have a good side. Every team is trying to settle down and find the right combination.
"As the competition progresses, I think the teams are getting settled. We will be facing a different style of play but we will focus on our style and have a good game tomorrow."
