Injured Roach to return
Calcutta: West Indies fast bowler Kemar Roach has been ruled out of the remainder of the West Indies’ tour of England, according to a media release.
Roach has been sidelined with shin muscle soreness and will return to Barbados to allow this to heal before starting a bowling programme again. Team physiotherapist CJ Clark said Roach’s workload has led to muscle soreness due to the repeated strain of bowling at high velocities.

Calcutta: Faf du Plessis, one of the revelations of IPL-V, has been named in South Africa’s 15-member squad for the unofficial Twenty20 tri-series against Zimbabwe and Bangladesh, in Zimbabwe, in June. Du Plessis, who played for the Chennai Super Kings in IPL-V, has played 21 ODIs for South Africa, but has never been part of the Twenty20 squad.

Calcutta: Hosts Sri Lanka will swing into World T20 mood as they take on Pakistan in a two-match International series with both teams looking to move up the ICC T20 Championship table.
Sri Lanka, which will host ICC World Twenty20, will need to win the series, which starts on Friday, 2-0 if they are to move up from third place in the table. Pakistan occupy the fifth spot while India are place way down in the seventh spot.
