Calcutta: Bangladesh ODI captain Mashrafe Mortaza believes that winning the upcoming tri- series, which also involves Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, can lift his team's spirits after the debacle in South Africa.

Following the tri-series in Dhaka, Bangladesh host for two Tests and as many T20Is against the latter.

"Obviously, this tri-series is very important and we will make plans to clinch it. We're certainly positive," Mashrafee was quoted as saying by a cricket-specific website.

"Everyone is upset after the South Africa series, so doing well can be a turning point for us."

"If you look at our wins during the last three-and-a-half years, you will see pacers did well in all of those wins. On the other hand, when they did badly, we lost," he pointed out.

"We pacers are not consistent and it is an area where we need to focus on. If we can perform well for 10 to 12 matches, we can gain momentum and that will be the key," he said.
