Calcutta: Mohun Bagan finished their Calcutta Football League Premier Division campaign, losing two points as they were held goalless by Aryan in their final appearance, at the Barasat Stadium, on Monday. Aryan goalie Priyant Singh, who had a fantastic match, was adjudged Man of the Match.

Bagan suffered another setback as they were docked three points for their gaffe in the game against Tollygunge Agragami. The league sub-committee of the IFA announced this decision after a meeting on Monday.

Sanjay Sen's men were comfortably placed at 3-1 against Tollygunge, looking set for a comprehensive victory. But not fielding a mandatory under-23 player towards the closing stages of the game proved costly.

"It was an unanimous decision to penalise Bagan and give full points to Tollygunge. The decision has been taken as per the Fifa and AIFF guidelines," IFA secretary Utpal Ganguli said.

The state association has also left it to the Calcutta Referees' Association (CRA) when it comes to take any action against the fourth referee of that match.

In that game, Suman Hazra and Azharuddin Mallick were the ones Bagan had included in their first XI to cover the under-23 quota.

Later, Sukhen Dey was brought in for Hazra in the 64th minute, while Ram Malik came in place of Azharuddin just as the match reached end of the regulation time.

It was during injury-time that Bagan had no under-23 player. Manish Bhargav and Tirthankar Sarkar were there on the reserve bench as under-23 players but went unused.

Looking back, coach Sanjay Sen insisted everyone in the Bagan camp should learn a lesson from this experience.

"Hope this is the last time that we committed such an error. We ought to learn from this matter," the Bagan coach said.

Meanwhile, the IFA will also be hearing the version of Southern Samity who were accused of not playing their best in the 0-4 thrashing at the hands of Tollygunge to ensure that the winning side got three crucial points.
