Calcutta: Mohun Bagan midfielder Yuta Kinowaki has been among the many affected by Typhoon Jebi , that massacred major cities in the Kansai region of Japan, including Osaka, Kyoto and Kobe, and paralysed normal life.

Kinowaki hails from Osaka, so one can only imagine the extent of damages he suffered along with his family.

Recounting that torrid time, the Japanese, who arrived in Calcutta late on Saturday night, said: "It was a terrible experience... A dreadful feeling, seeing the kind of damage it caused and the hopelessness all around...

"My family and I too suffered damages, like others. It will take a bit of time to recover from such a calamity. I only hope it doesn't happen to others."

Kinowaki, who played for Bagan last season, will be registering for the club on Tuesday.
