Diamondstar signs

Mohun Bagan, on Friday, registered defender Okwy Diamondstar of Australia for the I-League ahead of Sunday’s fixture against city rivals Chirag United. Diamondstar is likely to pair with Rahul Kumar to bolster the Bagan defence.

Horse show

Gulab Singh from RVC won the gold in the one-day event show jumping (individual) in the 59th Kolkata Horse Show at the Pat Williamson Grounds, on Friday.

In the team event, RVC A won the first place, followed by PBG and ASC Centre and College. Haryana Police bagged the top honours in the tent pegging sword (team) event.

Tennis tourney

La Martiniere for Boys took the senior boys crown with Azan Piperno leading from the front in the Calcutta International School-Inter-School Tennis Tournament at the BTA courts on Friday.

The senior girls title was swept by Aandrita Deb and Amrita Mukherjee of Mahadevi Birla Girls’ Higher Secondary School.

They beat Mehak Sekhani and Snigdha Kapoor of La Martiniere for Girls respectively. Akshar School won the junior boys event beating La Martiniere for Boys 2-1.
