Sydney: Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne says New Zealand’s Stephen Fleming is probably the best captain in world cricket.

Warne said Fleming possessed an astute tactical brain and always made the most of the weapons at his disposal.

“I think Stephen is probably the best captain in world cricket,” Warne told Sydney’s Daily Telegraph from Sri Lanka on Thursday. “I think he’s in the top few, if not the best, in Test and one-day cricket.”

Warne said Fleming always seemed to use the right tactics against him and leading fast bowler Glenn McGrath.

“Some of the things they came out with last summer were very good. They saw me and McGrath off and worked on the other blokes.” (Reuters)
