Manvir Singh, the striker who joined Mohammedan Sporting this year from Minerva Academy FC, scored a brace. Atinder Mani and Parminder Singh scored one goal each for the winners. Calcutta: Mohammedan Sporting thrashed George Telegraph 4-1 in a CFL Premier Division A tie on Wednesday at the Barasat Stadium. Manvir Singh, the striker who joined Mohammedan Sporting this year from Minerva Academy FC, scored a brace. Atinder Mani and Parminder Singh scored one goal each for the winners. Rajib Shaw reduced the margin for George Telegraph.

Mohammedan Sporting started on a positive not. Leonce Dodoz could have scored inside the first five minutes, but his free-kick hit the bar. Mohammedan Sporting, however, maintained their rhythm. They did not have to wait long for the first goal. It was Manvir who gave them the lead.

In the 22nd minute Manvir scored his second. His fine right-footer that beat the rival goalkeeper Laltu Mondal all ends up.

By then it was all over for George Telegraph. After the break, Sporting got their third. In the 48th minute, Mani scored off a pass from Leonce Dodoz. Parminder Singh, who came in as a substitute for Manvir, scored the fourth goal for Mohammedan Sporting.

Meanwhile, Daniel Bidemi will sign up as the third foreigner for Mohun Bagan.
