Calcutta, April 24 :    Calcutta, April 24:  Mohun Bagan found themselves in an uncomfortable position at stumps on day one of the J.C. Mukherjee semi-final match against Kalighat Wednesday. Kalighat left-arm spinner Murtaza Lodhgar bowled a fine spell for five wickets that sent Mohun Bagan packing for 213 in 78.3 overs. Sanjeeb Sanyal also chipped in with a lively spell of medium pace bowling to take three wickets. At close, Kalighat, were four without the loss. Bagan started well with openers Subhomoy Das and Mainak Sengupta looking in good touch. But both got out in quick succession. The apparently strong middle-order of the Bagan team, with Devang Gandhi and Sanjib Goel, once again failed to deliver. Laxmi Ratan Shukla's 29 and Madhusudhan Acharya's 42 were the only bright spots in the Bagan innings. Goutam Chakroborty, known to open the innings with distinction, was sent in at number ten. Brief Scores - Mohun Bagan 213 in 78.3 overs (Madhusudan Acharya 42, Laxmi Ratan Shukla 29; Murtaza Lodhgar 5/61, Sanjeeb Sanyal 3/66) Kalighat 4/0. Match to continue.
