Shirui Lily Cup

Imphal, March 27: Tiddim Road Unique Gamy Players Union today booked a final berth of the 27th Shirui Lily Cup 2008 played at Ukhrul Tangkhulong ground today.

The Shirui Lily Cup is a national-level football tournament and it is organised by Ukhrul District Football Association under the aegis of All Manipur Football Association.

In the first semi-final today, Tiddim Road Unique Gamy Players Union defeated Yaiskul Athletic Club by 5-1 goals.

Though Yaiskul Athletic Club looked promising in the beginning, with Arunkumar Singh netting the first goal in the seventh minute, Tiddim Road came back strongly with T. Shyamo Singh finding the equaliser in the 13th minute.

The Tiddim Road team got ahead with a brilliant goal by Maringmei in the 41st minute, to lead 2-1 in the first half.

The second half belonged to the Tiddim Road boys as they added three more goals. T. Shyamo Singh scored two more goals while A. Romen Singh put in one for the win today.

Referee N. Ibungo booked Maringmei with a yellow card for some foulplay in the second half.
