Imphal, July 1: The Manipur Cricket Association has shortlisted 82 players for the under-23, under-19 and under-16 boys' categories for the preparatory camp for the BCCI Associate and Affiliate Members Tournaments.
In the under-23 category, there are 30 players - N. Jakiechan Singh, N. Ajit, Mk. Abdullah Mughal, Md Sultan Karim, U. Robinson, K. Kenedy, S. Somorjit, L. Ronald, M. Sudhir, K. Veteshor Sharma, Saddam Ahmed Shah, G. Mangi Sharma, M. Tejkumar, S. Gautam, A. Guniram, Mintu Chandra, Th. Nicholson, Haojalen Kipgen, L. Nanao, H. Babulu, M. Senate, S. Sunil, M. Thomas, Kh. Raju, K. Priyojit, N. Saroj, N. Denin, P. Prafullomani and Th. Kishan Singh.
The players in the under-19 category are L. Sanatomba, Ch. Tyson, Alfred Hmanggaisang Hmar, N. Suraj, Mk. Nawaz Mughal, Sandeep Kumar, Raju Shiva, Mohd Nasir Alam, Mohd Al Bashid, Th. Rohit, L. Bishorjit, S. Vivekananda, L. Sushil, L. Dipu, Rk. Rex, Somit Deb, L. Johny, Th. Milan, Sandeep Chakravorty, Kh. Suraj, M. Langlonyamba, Md Kabir, Md Shahir Khan, Y. Johnson, Ng. Jameson, Th. Nishikanta, Ng. Bikramjit and M. Subashchandra.
In the under-16 category there are 22 players in the probables' list, comprising Ch. Itali, W. Clintonjeet, A. Thouba Meitei, Rk. Herachandra, Mohd Farooque, Mk. Nawaz Mughal, I. Monish, Th. Deepak, Th. Vidyeshwor, O. Motilal, Th. Kishan, Th. Homenjit, Ph. Jotin, T. Donadoni, O. Sadananda, M. Dominic, Ch. Bidash Meitei, Kh. Ulenyai, Sunilkumar, S. Bitar and S. Khaba Meitei.
The selection was held under the supervision of former national-level cricketers L. Binoy, I. Ibobi, Kh. Ratankumar, S. Rajiv and U. Jasobanta during the trial held at Luwangpokpa stadium from June 21 to 27.
Football: The Imphal West District Football Association is organising the 16th S. Birendra Singh Memorial Super Division Football League and 23rd L. Sangita Devi Memorial Football League, 2016, from August 1.
Annual meeting: The Manipur University Sports Committee will hold its annual general body meeting on July 13 at 1pm in the committee room of the vice-chancellor.
Fencing: The Manipur Fencing Association is organising the 12th Governor's Cup State-Level Fencing Championship, to be held at the fencing hall, Khuman Lampak from July 9 to16.
