Brad Cohen, a renowned motivational speaker who overcame Tourette syndrome, will promote Rani Mukerji’s Hichki, a film that is based on his life.
The March 23 release has Naina Mathur (played by Rani), who is afflicted with Tourette syndrome — a condition that makes her break into multiple tics — get the better of her disease to fulfil her dream of becoming a teacher.
Hichki is based on Brad Cohen’s autobiography titled Front of the Class: How Tourette Syndrome Made Me the Teacher I Never Had that went on to become an acclaimed film of the same name in 2008. “Brad will be promoting Hichki from the US. He has been excited about the film being made in Hindi and his best wishes are with Rani and the entire team. Brad loves the trailer of Hichki and wants to lend his support to spread awareness around Tourette syndrome in India and the world over. He will be promoting the movie in every capacity possible,” says a source.
