The northern part of the city got a new outlet of the live grill and buffet chain Barbeque Nation, at Diamond Plaza Mall on Jessore Road. Part of a chain of restaurants, this is the 104th outlet of the brand in the country. From grills on the table to an elaborate spread of main course and mouthwatering desserts, the 112-seater has it all, just like the other outlets of the brand.

“People in Bengal have a fondness for exotic food and they understand the flavours and tastes of the subcontinent. We have been extremely successful in satiating their taste buds so far. The launch of the third outlet in Calcutta stands testimony to our commitment to further augment the dining experience,” said Suman Mukherjee, assistant regional manager east India, Barbeque Nation Hospitality.

From fish to mutton, chicken, prawns and a variety of vegetarian delights ranging from mushrooms to pineapples, the restaurant serves up a storm with its unlimited live grills on the table.
A must-have on the buffet is the Mutton Laal Maas, the traditional Rajasthan-style mutton curry. Try this with butter naan or steamed rice.
The star of the main course buffet spread is the Chicken Biryani. Calcutta-style biryani loaded with flavourful saffron rice and tender pieces of chicken. Tastes best when paired with raita from the spread.

Ice creams to pastries and Indian sweets, the dessert counter is a blend of all things sweet. A separate kulfi counter rolls out a variety of flavours, from the common malai and sitaphal to seasonal ones like mango and the unusual paan-flavoured kulfi. There’s also a live dessert counter that whips up jalebis in hatke flavours like pineapple and apple.
