Mumbai, Oct. 13 (PTI): A woman passenger was injured at suburban Elphinstone Road railway station today when part of a tile of a foot overbridge fell on her on head while she was entering the premises, an official said.

It was the same footbridge, which links the Elphinstone Road and Parel railway stations, on whose staircase 23 people had died in a stampede on September 29.

The passenger, identified as Anita, 38, suffered a minor injury in the incident that occurred at around 3.40 pm, a Western Railway official said.

The woman, a resident of Chembur, was admitted to a hospital by the on duty GRP and RPF personnel, where her condition is stated to be fine.
