New Delhi, Sept. 12: Rajeet Mitter, India’s ambassador to the Philippines, will take charge as the high commissioner in Bangladesh.
Mitter has served as a joint secretary in the foreign and commerce ministries. The Cambridge University alumnus succeeds Pinaki Chakravarty.
The official announcement of his new job, part of an envoy shuffle, is expected soon.
Some of the appointees include Jyoti Swarup Pande, who has been made the Indian envoy to Ukraine.
Ravi Thapar, now a joint secretary in the foreign ministry, has been made ambassador to Lebanon. He will succeed Nengcha L. Mukhopadhaya, who will now be India’s envoy to Serbia.
Dinkar Khullar, additional secretary in the external affairs ministry, has been appointed ambassador to Austria.
