After Amitabh, it's Sourav
Calcutta: Sourav Ganguly will sing the national anthem at the inauguration of the Calcutta leg of the Pro Kabaddi League, beginning with the Bengal Warriors versus Jaipur Pink Panthers game, at the Netaji Indoor Stadium, on Wednesday.
Chief minister Mamata Banerjee would also grace the occasion along with the former India captain. "The chief minister will inaugurate this leg, while Sourav will be singing the national anthem.
"At each venue, one major celebrity of the city sings the national anthem to inaugurate the respective franchise's opening match at home. Amitabh Bachchan did so in Mumbai, Sourav will do it here," said Bengal Warriors CEO Sandeep Tarkas.
Pink Panthers owner and Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan will also be present and will be another star attraction on Wednesday. A total of 6000 seats are available for the public and it's expected to be a full house.
