Regional hospital opens
Hazaribagh, July 17: The new regional building on Hazaribagh Sadar Hospital premises, which was lying unused for the past four years, was thrown open to public today.
Inaugurating the four-storey complex, built at a cost of Rs 8 crore in 2011, deputy commissioner Mukesh Kumar termed it as another step towards providing better healthcare.
"Soon after joining office in February, I heard of the four-year-old demand of local residents," Kumar said, also conceding that the sadar hospital was struggling with manpower crunch.
and had received Rs 8 crore for construction of the new building. By 2011, the regional building was built but was lying unused for want of a formal inauguration.
People from Chatra, Koderma, Giridih and Ramgarh visit the hospital. The OPD records show 700-1,000 people at the hospital every day.
