? Mumbai, July 6 (PTI): Bombay High Court today asked the Maharashtra government to explain what mechanism it has evolved to prevent repeated indefinite strikes by doctors who claim their demands had not been fulfilled.
It was hearing a PIL filed against a strike called by over 4,000 resident doctors on July 2. The doctors alleged government indifference to their demands for better pay, security and work hours. The strike was called off on July 3.
? New Delhi (PTI): A Delhi police constable was shot at by a guard at the All India Radio office after the cop's car rammed into the gate on Monday. Ankit Kumar was allegedly driving drunk. The guard had presumed the car occupants to be terrorists, police said.
? New Delhi (PTI): The finance ministry has asked the Enforcement Directorate to remove senior Supreme Court lawyer K.K. Venugopal as its special counsel in the 2G case for taking a "contrary stand". Venugopal had submitted a note in 2014 without consulting the agency on behalf of Rajeshwar Singh who is the main investigating officer in the 2G probe.
