Vivek Jaiswal (first from left) and Saurabh Bangani (second from left) of Dance India Dance fame were in the city on August 2 to launch the third season of Born 2 Dance — a national dance competition started by the duo. With five categories open for the competition — solo for under 14 and above 14, duet, group and a special mom-dad section — participants can register directly at Vigour, the Fitness Studio (Howrah) and National English School (VIP Road), where the auditions will be held on August 19 and 20 respectively. The finalists will be offered a free three-day grooming course and the overall winner will receive a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh. The solo winners of Born 2 Dance, Seasons 1 and 2, showed off their impressive moves at the launch. What: Chhoti Si Asha, a musical charity evening by the Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy
When: August 14, 7.30pm onwards
Where: Taj Bengal, Alipore
Expect: The audience can look forward to performances by Soumyojit Das (vocals) and Sourendro Mullick (piano), readings by Shahana Chatterjee and Mir Afsar Ali, the screening of a short film on the Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy and a performance by its children. The programme has been conceptualised and scripted by Jayabrato Chatterjee. Actress and MP Jaya Bachchan and Sudha Kaul, the founder and vice-chairperson of the institute, will be present, among others.
