Filmmaker Sarika Mene says she is not going to give up easily on her plagiarism charges against October director Shoojit Sircar. The Marathi director of the film Aarti: The Unknown Love Story has hired a new lawyer to fight her case against Sircar. Sarika claims the makers of October have picked up the main plot point and characters from her 2017 production Aarti. A criminal complaint has also been filed against Sircar and October writer Juhi Chaturvedi.

Mene said she hasn’t received any reply from Sircar but has moved Indian Motion Pictures Producers’ Association. Mene said she has asked the association and Sircar to watch Aarti so that she could point out the similarities between the two films. She even posted an article on the social media where Sircar has said his films are made out of personal experiences and Mene asked for evidence in his personal life for October. Mene said team October has not responded to her request to watch Aarti.
