Hugh Jackman believes that his children have a “responsibility” to help others. The 49-year-old actor, who shares Oscar, 18, and Ava, 12, with wife Deborra-Lee Furness, said: “They constantly remind their children how ‘lucky’ they are and why they should give back. My kids have so many advantages. And I want them to know that they have a responsibility to use those advantages to help others. My kids are constantly reminded about how lucky we are in our family. We’re ridiculously blessed,” Jackman told People magazine.

The actor said he learned the same values from his parents who were also engaged in community work. “I was brought up with parents who both did volunteer work and community work. They gave back. After my father retired, he donated his services as an accountant to developing nations for three years. So it always felt normal to me to give back. I want it to feel normal for my kids,” he added.

Jackman said he does not desire more money in life and would instead like to share his wealth with others.
