When you have the reputation that Shakti Kapoor has, you would believe doing a steamy role would be easy. But age got into his mind when Shakti Kapoor had to shoot some sequences with Poonam Pandey for their new film The Journey Of Karma. “Awkward moments were there when this girl and man come very close to each other. And there were some physical moments like they hold each other… and I started feeling like an old man. I thought I was holding a very young girl. I did feel a little awkward,” said Shakti Kapoor. And just when things were getting too hot for him to handle, Poonam put him at ease. “Had Poonam not made me comfortable, I probably would have not been able to do the film.” (Noyon Jyoti Parasara)

Giving advice has typically been the domain of a parent. But when it comes to Shakti Kapoor, he claims it’s his children who do that. Asked recently if the veteran actor ever gave any tips to daughter Shraddha Kapoor, he said it was the other way round. “Today, the kids give your tips. They tell me to me natural, not colour my hair,” said the actor, who is known to have a rather distinct style. Shraddha apparently also encouraged her father to take up the film with the sultry Poonam Pandey. (Noyon Jyoti Parasara)

Rishi Kapoor is impressed with Ranbir Kapoor’s transformation for Sanju, and the veteran actor says he is proud of the hard work his son has put in for his role in the Rajkumar Hirani film. Rishi said the response Ranbir is getting for his look is because of his dedication to the craft. “He is looking the part… To make up his body, he took six weeks off and grew hair. He is an actor and he has passion. Thankfully, one thing that I have passed on to him is my passion for work and films,” Rishi told PTI.

British director Michael Anderson, best known for his films Around the World in 80 Days, Logan’s Run and The Dam Busters, has died. He was 98. The Oscar-nominated filmmaker died on Wednesday in Vancouver, a spokesperson for his family told The Hollywood Reporter. Anderson’s career began in the 1940s as an assistant director before he joined the Royal Signal Corps during the war. His third film, The Dam Busters (1955) was the biggest film of the year for Britain at the box office.

Guy Pearce, Claes Bang and Vicky Krieps will star in Lyrebird. Helmed by Dan Friedkin, the film is backed by Imperative Entertainment and Ridley Scott, Variety reported. The film narrates the true story of Dutch folk hero Han Van Meegeren, who swindled millions of dollars from the Nazis by selling them forged Johannes Vermeer paintings. He is considered the
most successful art forger of all time.
