Freeze frame: Blake Lively, Colin Farrell, Kangana Ranaut, Benedict Cumberbatch, Julia Roberts
Blake Lively has credited her husband Ryan Reynolds for making her feel “strong and independent”. The 31-year-old actress, who has children James, 3, and Ines, 23 months, with Reynolds, believes the “mutual trust and respect” they share has given their relationship a solid foundation. “Ryan makes me feel very strong and independent. He’s someone who has a great spirit and we have a very healthy relationship, which is both very profound and also light-hearted. And we also have that kind of mutual trust and respect, which is the basis of every good partnership,” Lively told Closer magazine. The actress said for her and Reynolds, 41, family comes first.
Actors Colin Farrell and Common have joined Jessica Chastain in the upcoming action-drama Eve. Tate Taylor is directing the film. Taylor replaced Matthew Newton as director two weeks after Newton left the project following online backlash due to his history of alleged assault and domestic violence. Principal photography is set to begin in Boston on September 24. Farrell will play Simon, the leader of a black ops organisation whom Chastain’s character works for. Common will play Chastain’s ex-fiancee Michael.
Director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, who will soon work with Manikarnika actress Kangana Ranaut in Panga, is reportedly taking precautionary steps to avoid any kind of meddling from the actress later. With reports of Kangana interfering in the creative decisions surfacing every now and then, the 38-year-old filmmaker will make Kangana sign a no-interference contract to ensure that Panga is made sans controversies, unlike the 31-year old actor’s previous film Simran and now Manikarnika. “Ashwini has had many meetings with Kangana and they’ve gotten along really well. Ashwini is sure she will make a fabulous film with Kangana. But repeated allegation of interference in the director’s work, first with Vishal Bhardwaj on Rangoon, then Hansal Mehta in Simran and now Krissh with Manikarnika, has put Ashwini on her guard,” a report quoted an unnamed source as saying.
Director Edward Berger is set to helm thriller Rio starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Jake Gyllenhaal. The actors are also producing the project, reported Variety. Call Me by Your Name helmer Luca Guadagnino had been attached last year to direct Rio but fell out due to scheduling commitments. The story, written by Steven Knight, revolves around two old friends who meet again in Rio de Janeiro - one, a journalist played by Gyllenhaal, and the other, a hugely successful financier, portrayed by Cumberbatch.
