Table Tennis Player
Kalyani Public School, Barasat
Syndrela Das, an under-15 state champion in Table Tennis, is a student of class 8 and has always dreamt of winning an Olympic gold medal for India. Not one to be kept back from achieving her dream, this 13-year-old from Barasat has already progressed with leaps and bounds through the effort that she puts into her practice sessions. She trains for four hours in the morning followed by light sessions in the evening. However, this determined champ also makes the time to catch up on her schoolwork, in between her sessions. She has so far outplayed numerous opponents at several international tournaments, with the World Table Tennis (WTT) Youth Contender 2022 held in Slovenia and Italy in the U13 category, being one of them. To fuel her mind she reads biographies, which are a source of motivation for her. Reading about renowned people, and their success stories act as a catapult inspiring her to work further and boost her for the next tournament. She has also learnt the importance of studying one's own performance to figure out one's weaknesses - and focusing on those to improve oneself. Ranked 4th at the under-13 level in the World and in India, Syndrela is highly focused towards her dream of representing the nation and is ensuring that there is no stone left unturned when it comes to training, grit and determination.
