13-year-old, Shruti Majumdar is a gymnast who dreams of participating in various international games and competitions. Beginning her training at the mere age of 5, her love for artistic gymnastics has now led her to receive several certificates of merit from institutions like the CISCE, New Delhi; West Bengal State, South 24 Paraganas district and more. Reminiscing about how she got into gymnastics, Shruti recalls the day when she had gone out for a walk in her neighbourhood where she saw a group of gymnasts practising and was fascinated by them. She pestered her parents to enrol her in a class, and ever since then there was no looking back for Shruti. For Shruti, what drives her is that gymnastics is not just another sport for her. It is actually what makes her happy and gives her a sense of fulfilment whenever she sets foot in the arena. The other thing that has always motivated her is her dream of becoming an Olympian and receiving national, state and international level renown for gymnastics - making a name for India, and more especially Eastern India on the map of the world. Shruti also excels in painting. In order to keep her mind and body in tune, dancing to the tunes of Kathak has led Shruti to receive a national school award in the same. She also dreams of becoming a kathak dancer someday. With learning Kathak and playing the tabla, Shruti already has quite a few feathers in her cap.
