From slow dancing to cha-cha-cha, the dance floor hotted up as the night got younger. The Time of My Life and Mambo No. 5 were the top numbers for these two ladies. “I love the infectious energy here. The band is definitely the highlight of the evening,” said Delhi-based consultant Sakshi Balani (top right), who partied with friend Rukmini Das.
Debbie Misra looked easy-breezy in a floral-print maxi dress in green, paired with a shawl and block heels. “New Year’s Eve is a special occasion that calls for a special dress. Florals are quite in and so I chose to wear this,” said the business developer, ushering in the New Year with family and friends for the first time at Bengal Club.
Roma Roy wowed with her classic black-and-white look. The Indonesia-based teacher, who is visiting her family in the city, paired black trousers with a white bell-sleeved top and peep-toe heels. Her choice of accessories? A pearl neckpiece and shoulder dusters. “I wanted to have an elegant evening and my choice of attire had to match my mood,” said Roma.
Standing out in a sea of western wear was this pretty lady in her black-and-pink sari who also scored with her moves on the dance floor.

The spread had some lip-smacking dishes — the traditional Roast Chicken with Orange and Bell Pepper to the popular Ham Cider. The club’s specialities like Gypsy Roast, Bekti with Lobster Tails and Banbury Apple Pie were the pop picks. Black Dog Scotch flowed freely, followed by red and white wine.
