Alipore: Police have chargesheeted the dance teacher arrested in connection with a sexual assault on a student of a Deshapriya Park school under sections of IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
The charges of aggravated penetrative sexual assault on a Class II student and criminal intimidation can lead to a minimum of 10 years in jail for Soumen Rana, 19. The maximum punishment is life imprisonment.
The police submitted the chargesheet in the Alipore Pocso court on Thursday on the 28th day of the matter being reported to cops.
The case was registered with Tollygunge police station and Rana arrested based on allegations of the student, a seven-year-old girl.

The student told her mother that a teacher had been touching her inappropriately. When she asked her why she wanted to skip school, the girl apparently told her that the teacher had threatened to bury her when she told him that she had confided in her mother.
