Push for services pact

New Delhi, March 23: India wants fast-tracking of negotiations for a trade facilitation pact in services at the WTO, saying multilateral bodies cannot afford delivering slowly in the present political reality of the globe. Commerce minister Nirmala Sitharaman said member countries of the WTO can learn lessons from the negotiations on the trade facilitation agreement in goods, which took a long time for conclusion.

New Delhi, March 23: The government today notified the amended India-Singapore tax treaty under which capital gains tax will be levied at the source of investments with effect from April 1.
