Patna, March 5: Light, sound and music will mark the Bihar Divas celebrations at SK Memorial Hall on March 22. But Gol Ghar and Mahendru Ghat would miss out on the glitter.
The stage is almost set for laser and light and sound shows at SK Memorial Hall. But contrary to the promise, the debut of similar shows at Gol Ghar and Mahendru Ghat would be delayed at least by a month.
Shailendra Kumar, the general manager of Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC), said: “The work on the laser, sound and light shows at SK Memorial Hall has commenced. At present, underground wiring is going on. We have asked the firm selected for the job to complete the entire work before March 22, so as to make these laser shows a major attraction in the upcoming centenary year celebrations in Patna.”
A viewers’ gallery, control room and musical fountains would be developed at SK Memorial Hall in the next few days to make a complete set-up for the shows.
While the work on the laser and light and sound shows is on right track at SK Memorial, BSTDC would not be able to meet the Bihar Divas deadline for similar shows proposed at Mahendru Ghat and at Gol Ghar — the heritage warehouse of the city.
“The firms selected for organising light and sound shows at Mahendru Ghat and Gol Ghar would take around a month’s time for the completion of work at both the locations,” said Shailendra.
The plan of BSTDC to set up a food plaza, children's amusement park, water and adventure sports facilities at Sabbalpur Diara has also landed in rough waters, as the project work has apparently been stalled from the past fortnight. The corporation had selected city-based RK Enterprises for setting up a food plaza, children's amusement park, water and adventure sports facilities among others at Diara by the end of February.
“The selected firm organised an event on the occasion of Valentine’s Day and constructed the boundary wall around the project area in the next few days. But there has been no progress in the past few days. We could not contact the firm assigned the task. Thus, the project would be considerably delayed,” said Shailendra.
Praveen Sinha, the managing director of Ocean Vision Pvt. Ltd, who had organised the Valentine’s Day party at Sabbalpur Diara with RK Enterprises, told The Telegraph that Verma owes some money to his company with regard to the party and he was unable to contact the latter for the past few days.
