Patna, Aug. 12: A woman teacher of Kendriya Vidyalaya at Pusa in Samastipur has accused principal Dinesh Singh of sexually exploiting her on the pretext of marriage.
The victim lodged an FIR with the Women's police station of the district on Friday, alleging that principal Singh established physical relationship with her on the promise of marriage.
Samastipur sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Tanveer Ahmad visited the school at Pusa Agriculture University on Friday evening for inquiry. Ahmad met the school teachers and recorded their statements. He said the woman would be sent for medical examination. Moreover, she would be produced before the judicial magistrate to get her statement recorded under Section 164 of CrPC. The principal of the school was not present in the school, the SDPO revealed.
The teachers told the police that the complainant was appointed on contract basis. She was allowed to stay on the premises of the institute on the principal's directive. A staff said: "The principal proceeded on long leave as soon as he came to know about a case registered against him."
The victim told reporters in Samastipur that the principal was initially cordial. "But when I pressured him for marriage, he rejected it outright and threatened me with dire consequences. I had no option but to seek police help," she added. He also apprehended threat to her life. "The principal is influential and he may cause me harm. I have brought it to the notice of senior police officers," she told The Telegraph.
