3 hurt as soldiers in convoy shoot back at stone-pelting youths in Bandipora

Srinagar, Aug. 5 (PTI): Three persons were injured on Saturday when soldiers in a convoy allegedly opened fire on youths who pelted stones at them.

A police officer said some army vehicles were passing through the SK Bala locality in Sumbol area of Bandipora on Saturday morning when a mob started pelting stones.

The soldiers allegedly opened fire to disperse the mob, injuring three persons. The injured have been referred to a hospital here, he said.

A similar incident took place at Harnag in Anantnag district but there were no casualties in the alleged Army firing there, the officer said.
