NCC meet

National Cadet Corps (NCC) directorate organised a news meet on Monday to plan out a new course to empower cadets and give them training in leadership skills. The additional director-general of NCC (Bihar and Jharkhand), Shammi Sabharwal, and deputy director-general A. Ganguly addressed the meet.

Sabharwal said on the NCC day, a programme will be organised at Patna College and the chief guest will be art, culture and youth affairs minister Shiv Chandra Ram.

Film fest

Soviet war drama Come and See (1985) directed by Elem Klimov was screened on the second day of the 8th Patna Film Festival organised by Hiraval (Jan Sankriti Manch) at Kalidas Rangalaya.

More than 100 cine-lovers attended the festival on Monday. Bahman Ghobadi's 2004 Kurdish war film Turtles Can Fly was screened in the evening.

A short film by Ashvin Kumar, Little Terrorist (2004), garnered quite an applause.
