Cellphone gang busted

Bhubaneswar, Nov. 30: Police today busted a gang of mobile thieves, which included five minor students among the eight arrested.

The cops also seized 50 smart phones worth Rs 6 lakh and a high-end motorcycle worth Rs 2 lakh from the gang members.

The cops said that three of the five minors were Plus Two students, while the other two were ITI students. The other accused have been identified as Dinesh Kumar, 24, Pintan Kumar Dalai, 20, and Bimal Kumar Ransingh, 22.

Police said the members were drug addicts and used to snatch phones and sold them for money. "The members are active in various parts of the city," said inspector in charge of Kharavela Nagar police station Sanjeev Satpathy.
