Exam woes 

Ranchi: Thousands of youths, who turned up at Ranchi Police Lines on Saturday to appear for physical tests as part of a recruitment drive for Tripura State Rifles, protested after finding no one at the venue. 

The aspirants were asked to go to Birsa Munda Football Stadium in Morabadi, but found no one there too. Ranchi SP Kishore Kaushal said there was a communication gap.

Ranchi: Live 5.5mm Insas rifle cartridges, belonging to PLFI chief Dinesh Gope, was recovered from the house of Tarop gram pradhan of Simdega on Friday night. Village chief Mahesh Singh (23) has been arrested. Simdega SP Rajeev Ranjan Singh said Mahesh confessed to have close association with Gope, who carries a reward of Rs 25 lakh on his head.

Hemant visit 

Ranchi: JMM working president Hemant Soren visited the family of Abraham Mundu, who died in police 
firing in Khunti last Saturday. 

Khadi outlets 

Ranchi: Jharkhand State Khadi Gramodyog Board will open an outlet at Birsa Munda Airport, Ranchi, on November 1 and another on the premises of the state Assembly on November 22. Union minister of state for civil aviation Jayant Sinha will launch the airport store.

India coach 

Ranchi: Jharkhand State Wrestling Association secretary Bhola Nath Singh was nominated the coach of Indian senior freestyle wrestling team on Saturday.
