The natural way

Suparna Trikha Dewan has natural solutions to all your beauty problems

Have the hectic preparations for the festival of lights kept you from indulging in some serious skin care? Then fret not. For, today, on Diwali day, you can achieve glowing skin in just 10 minutes. Here are some magic recipes that you can conjure up from your breakfast menu!

When you wash your hair, use leftover strained tea water from your morning cup as an after-shampoo rinse. Let your hair dry naturally after this rinse for a fabulous shine and bounce.

If you are having eggs for breakfast, then set aside 1 tsp of egg white and whisk it along with 1 tsp of honey. Apply this pack to your face and neck and wash off with cold water when dry. This works as an excellent skin tightening mask that’ll also leave your skin feeling super soft.

Soak leftover toast in milk and scrub all over the face. This acts as an amazing skin softener and exfoliant.

Also, a teaspoon of fresh cream can be applied on the hands and face in the morning. Leave on for five minutes and wash off for baby-soft skin.

Bananas too are excellent for the skin. Just mash this breakfast basic and add the juice of half a lemon to it. Massage your face with this potassium-packed fruit pack for an instant glow.

And if you are a coffee person, then mix 1 tsp of sugar and coffee powder, and massage into damp skin. This will not only wake up the skin but also have the effect of an instant-facial.

I have a magic recipe that will fix even the driest of skin in just a few minutes. All you need to do is apply a mask made with 2 tsp oatmeal mixed with milk. Scrub off when it is semi-dry.

Now that you have your beauty breakfast menu in place, your skin is sure to glow as you celebrate the day. Happy Diwali!
