Teok cops foil vehicle theft bid

Jorhat, April 28: Police at Teok revenue circle foiled an attempt by thieves to steal a Bolero pick-up van at Teok Kaliapni and chased another suspecting it to be stolen at Teok Boloma, at 2am today. The van met with an accident and two persons fled from the vehicle.

Bridge burnt

Unidentified men today burnt a bamboo footbridge over Gaurang river in Kokrajhar, around 1km from the SP office.

Eve-teaser: Munnaf Ali, 25, of Aironjongla village who had climbed a tree at Modergola under Dhubri police station, was brought down by police today. He was fleeing from the police after a few women chased him for passing remarks while they were taking a bath, a police source said.
