Inter-school debate contest

Shillong, July 30: Chirag Roy of Army Public School emerged as the best speaker at the 12th All-Shillong Inter-School/College Debate Competition held here today.

Debating on the topic Co-ed schools are more effective in educating students than the single-sex schools, Roy argued lucidly while E.G.S. War of St Edmund's HS School, Shillong, bagged the second prize.

The competition was organised by the Laban Bengalee Boys HS School in memory of (late) Hironmoy Bhattacharjee, former vice-principal of the school.

In the 12th Annual Shillong Inter-School/College Science Seminar, on the theme Plate Tectonics, organised by the same school for Classes IX and X, Sabnam Singh of Rilbong P.N. Choudhury Higher Secondary School, Shillong, bagged the first position.

In the Classes XI and XII category, Ankit Choudhury of Laban Bengalee Boys Higher Secondary School emerged the best performer.
