Haflong, Sept. 1: Suspected militants abducted a supervisor of a construction company last night from Dima Hasao district.

According to Dima Hasao police, a group of eight armed men barged into the camp of Triveni Construction at Hatikhali around 8pm and abducted Safihur Rahman, 36, at gunpoint.

A team of police and paramilitary forces rushed to the spot and launched a search operation, but Rahman is yet to be traced.

The company camped at Hatikhali is engaged in Lumding-Silchar broad gauge conversion.
