Kokrajhar win 1-0

Dibrugarh, Aug. 31: Kokrajhar annexed the title of the 12th inter-district under-19 girls’ football tournament defeating Dibrugarh 1-0 in the final at the Doomdooma town field in Tinsukia district today.

Striker Bijuli Basumatary of Kokrajhar deflected home a pass from Sabina Kaspatri from the centre in the 53rd minute for the all-important goal.

Mrilani Baruah and Sabita Gowala of Jorhat were adjudged the Best Player and Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament. Sabina Kaspatri of Kokrajhar was awarded Best Player of the final match.

Altogether 14 teams participated in the tournament hosted by the Doomdooma Sports Association under the banner of Assam Football Association.

GSA soccer: Ganga Sports Club registered their third consecutive victory defeating Navajyoti Club 3-0 in the RG Baruah Guwahati Sports Association Super Division Football League at Nehru Stadium in Guwahati today, writes our staff reporter from Guwahati.

With this win, Ganga Sports Club stand in the fourth position with a total of nine points.
