US firm sniffs scope

Calcutta, Aug. 28: Teoco Software Pvt Ltd, a US-based provider of assurance, analytics and optimisation solutions to telecom companies, is looking to double revenues from India in two years.

Revenues from India stood at around $5 million for calendar year 2013 of a global turnover of $165 million.

The growth will largely be fuelled by analytical needs in wireless mobile networks or radio access networks (RAN) as telecom operators tie up with retail service partners for geo-location based services.

“We hope to sell our RAN solutions to big telecom players. There is intense competition. RAN is really the feeder to the smartphones. We are now starting a development team in RAN in Calcutta,” said Srinivas Bhogle, director and India country manager, Teoco Software.

While Teoco’s headcount nationally stands at 375, it plans to add 50 by December 2015, most of which will be in Calcutta.
