Trinayanjyoti enter final

Dibrugarh, Aug. 27: Trinayanjyoti Sangha, Chabua, edged past Duliajan Football Academy 5-3 via tiebreakers to seal a berth in the final of the second Umesh Gogoi football tournament at Lahoal Rural Stadium near here today.

Regulation time ended in a goalless draw as both the teams toiled hard but could not score a single goal.

Honmoni Duwaraha, Aditya Karmarkar, Hemanta Gaur, Jyoti Sonowal and Rabi Ting scored for Trinayanjyoti Sangha in the penalty shootout.

On the other hand, Bhupen Gogoi, Bhupen Phukan and Rupjyoti Barua scored for Duliajan Football Academy.

Tomorrow, Barekuri Football Coaching Centre will play Namrup Town Club in the second semi-final.
