Odisha effects IPS rejig

Bhubaneswar, Aug. 26: Satyabrata Bhoi was today appointed as the deputy commissioner of police.

Bhoi, who was the Jagatsinghpur superintendent of police, replaced Nitinjeet Singh, who has been posted as superintendent of police (vigilance).

The Odisha government today effected a major rejig among 32 IPS officers.

The government also rejigged superintendents of police in the Maoist-affected districts. While Charan Singh Meena has been appointed the Koraput superintendent of police, Mitrabhanu Mohapatra, who was the Koraput additional superintendent of police, will be that of Malkangiri. Similarly, Sarah Sharma has been posted as the Sonepur superintendent of police. Sunil Joshi and Parul Gupta have been appointed the superintendents of police of Nuapada and Nabarangpur, respectively. K. Siva Subramani will be the Rayagada superintendent of police.

Ashis Kumar Singh, who was posted as the Ganjam superintendent of police, has been brought to Puri keeping an eye on the Nabakalebar festival to be held next year.

Rourkela superintendent of police Amitendra Nath Sinha has been appointed superintendent of police (vigilance) while Sanjay Kumar Kaushal has been posted as railway superintendent of police in Cuttack.

Amrita Dash has been posted as deputy commissioner of police (headquarters), Sanjay Kumar is posted as deputy inspector general (law and order), N.B. Bharathi and Prateek Mohanty will be the deputy inspector general (modernisation) and deputy inspector general (nothern range), respectively.
