Usainís decision

Warsaw: Usain Bolt has decided to end his 2014 season and will not compete in the 100 metres in Thursdayís IAAF Diamond League Final in Zurich, organisers said on Sunday. The decision, which Boltís manager Ricky Simms confirmed, came a day after the Jamaican sprinter ran the fastest indoor 100m ever, clocking 9.98 seconds in Warsaw.

Armaan shines

Calcutta: Armaan Ebrahim, along with teammate Miguel Toril, achieved a double podium in the eighth round of the Blancpain FIA GT Series, here, on Sunday. The duo finished third in both races in the Silver Cup class for drivers under the age of 25 years at the Slovakia Ring.

Gold Coast: American Katie Ledecky set a second world record in two days by shattering her own 1500-metre freestyle record by almost six seconds with a time of 15 minutes 28.36s at the Pan Pacific Championships, on Sunday.

Calcutta: Sheikh Sarfarazuddin blanked Harsh Sweekha 3-0 with a break of 75 in the third frame at the State Ranking Snooker Championship, being held at The Calcutta Swimming Club, on Sunday. The other winners of the day were Uttam Gupta, Binay Agarwal, Neeraj Sharma, Sumit Jhunjhunwala and Nemesh Patel.
